Question on Koni install
#1
I was looking at the install page that someone gave me. What is going to keep water from getting in that canister after you cut it to insert the new Koni? I am a bit worried that water will get in between the koni and that housing you cut and eventually rust out the bottom of it?
Also, do you have to do this to the back setup as well?
Thanks,

...
How hard is it to cut that metal housing? I am curious if I should go buy a cut off tool for my air compressor, or just use the hack saw??
What type of problems did you run into? Do you still need dust boots? Where can I get new ones as mine are all ripped up? Any misc. tips you can give me? How long did it take to do all four of them?
Trying to gather as much info. on this before I jump into it.
Thanks,
SHUMAX

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what the rubber sleve that came with the Koni's is for? I haven't installed them yet, but I assumed that was used to "wrap" the top of the strut with the mount.
Is that right?
Is that right?

yeah.
OrgeDave is right.
pipe cutter is the way to go. that's what i did. (er.. victor did. hehe.)
the hole was a PITA, dewalt/crasftman electric drill (~$70) wont do jack. u gotta get something with alot more power.
oh say.. 300W two handed drill. or something .eheh.
the rubber sleeve is to slip over the top of the strut to prevent water..
