I went out to the DragStrip last night for the first time. There I found SyNKi and Ant95se, they gave some pointers regarding setting up and launching. And thanks to them I pulled a 15.3 @ 89mph on my first run.
It was lots of fun I'll go again for sure!

peace

Yep, it was good meeting you too Alfredo. Hey, you vanished after my last pass. You didnt forget to fill your tires back up with air did ya? Anyways, Al made us maxima owners out there proud for a first timer. His first run:
R/T - .540 Damn...thats all i had to say about that
60' - 2.3 Wow... for a auotmagik that is good.
1/4 - 15.3@89

Congrats... as far as me and Ant.. we have no comments about last night.

Hey Ant & Al... remember.. all show and no go, but something has to make up for the no go right?!

Wow Syn, you've got great memory! I had to look at my slip to confirm the numbers above!

I'm considering a UDP, maybe I can buy myself a 15.0
Yeah it was great to meet you guys. Looking forward to the next meet.

I saw you run your last one then I dashed to my car to wait my turn. Afterwards I saw Ant, but he was on his way out I think. My wife was cold, so we took off.

Once again, thanks for your help last night.
And yes, I filled up

Great run! Way to represent us automatic guys. Did you guys had to manually shift your auto? I never been to a track, so I don't know the first thing about what to do. Is it anything like racing in the streets? In the streets, I manually shift, I put it in 2nd gear to start, and rev it up to about 1500-2000 rpms. How you guys do it?

Thanks guys. I was told to start on 1st gear @ about 1600 to 1800rpm then shift to 2nd at about 6k. From 2nd to D at around 6100rpm. But, when it was my time to go, I was so nervous that I forgot! Drove the hole way down on D.

Really? That's a good number for just leaving it in D. I thought you manually shifted. Just imagine if you did, maybe 15.0 flat.

Normally i launch at 1600-2000rpm. It will depend on how well i hook up my first few runs. I use to shift it manually. Shifted first to second @ 6100 and second to third @ 6000. I found with the VB mod you run quicker if you leave it in D. All test and tune.

theres this company in my city called oklahoma tranmissions and they are sell shift kits for maximas. the shift kit for my gen and engine type is 51 $. i have been told that a shift kit is bad for the car cause it shifts it so hard that it can actually damage my tranny. anyone has a shift kit for their car and how is your tranny doing?

Well, you have the VB mod, so I'm not surprised that you don't have to manually shift. If the VB mod is anything like disconnecting that shifting sensor thing, I would imagine the shifts are hard enough that you won't need to manually shift. As far as shifting manually, some people say it's better to start from 2nd and some others say it's better to start from 1st. What is it? I leave it in 2nd gear. I even do this sometime when I cruising in the street for at very low speed. This way, if someone want a piece of me and/or tailgating my ***, I can show them what's up.
