ok so they steal the HIDs, but mess them up pretty bad. What is the point? I mean come on, I would never buy a "used" light in the condition these stolen ones are in. Sure they can make some money on the stuff, but still WTF!

I e-mailed the guy auctioning off the first set and it stated:

"Are the headlights stolen? Because they look as if they were pried from the car."

He replied:
"Hi, No these headlights were not stolen,I own an autobody repair shop."

Hmmmmm

Ask him which bodyshop and tell him you'll personally go pick up the headlights from him at the bodyshop. Maybe we can round up a few 2k2 HID victims and we can pay him a visit.

Why don't they somehow put identifiers on the headlight housing, like the VIN...then if there stolen, and re-sold they can be tracked, and tell if the car is no longer on the road, or if the HEADLIGHTS were STOLEN

Not these threads again. Everyone knows that losers are stealing HIDs and trying to sell them on ebay. Quit advertising for them. We've all seen these ads time and time again.

I bet more crap than ever is sold on e-bay.

hard to enforce...if they do not sell it on e-bay, they will find another way.

We should just email them and annoythem..not that it will do anything

EZ someone make a BS e-bay account, and win the bid. when he contacts you for payment, ignore him. he'll be forced to re-auction it, rinse and repeat.

for those of you angry guys with too much time on your hands.

So I emailed him...

Me: "Sorry to hear about your car man. Just wanted to double check with you that theses are actually Nissan HID's. Did they come off of a 2003 TLI trim? (only trim to have HID's I believe)"

Him: "ya"

I heard on the news, with that new 'mechonism' coming out on the new Max's, the HID's can be tracked unlike the older models
