ok guys heres my deal.....i got a 93 gxe with 145,000 miles on it.....i dont want to spend money on it anymore cus i dont think spending a ton of money on a car with that many miles is worth it....so im thinking of selling it and taking out a small loan.....so heres my question....with around 11 grand what car would you guys go for?.....im talking 11 grand for the car and hooking it up(well rims and system)......i was thinking to just get a 93 or 94 se cus i love my max and i really cant think of anything else....only other cars i have in mind right now are v6 jetta or gti golf.........PLEASE GUYS GIVE ME FEEDBACK!..thanks

 

Since you are getting rims and a system, you won't need bose or SE rims. Look into a 4th Gen (95-99) gxe. I'm sure you can get a 97 or 98 GXE for 11k plus the value of the car. The downside.....no leather in a GXE, or some of the other goodies.

nooo wayyyyy. a 95 will have too many miles on it to put in a blower.... i think sprintmax had one of his wheels fall on his head........ hahaha.. just playing..

 

you can get a 95 with 80 - 90k miles.. and then supercharge it..

or he could get a totalled max and buy a new engine

new engine is only $1200 ... 2 ppl here has a supercharged max with 100,000 miles

i just got my 97 gxe a lil over a month ago. it's white with black leather. i bought mine for $9,700 with 60k miles. perfect except for one small dent. just to give you an idea.

 

 

point is, its a bad idea.. they didn't install it with that kind of mileage...

 

A GXE with leather and a 5spd?

With $11,000 you can modify your car a whole lot.

Good Paint Job - $2500
Rebuilt/New Engine - $2500
Rebuilt/New Tranny - $2000

Then you still have $4G to play around with. Thats enough for a nice system and new rims.

 

sell the max ... get a E30 m3.... handle alot better than maxima's and are just plain cooler.

if you want something fun, you can buy an 94 miata for under 7k and put the rest of the money into it. stage II turbo kit...ooooohhhhh.....

 

jim has a s/c on his max....
the s/c was not put in with 90,000 on the car.
getting a s/c when the car is fairly new then getting higher milage through time is another story......

 

with 168K miles and a SC, so.. I forgot his name though.

 

so new engine $1200 and a SC $4000?? maybe you should put another engine and put it in the back of the max and make it AWD with 380 hp

 

Get a low mile 4th gen Max...

 

You could find I real nic 93-94 max SE with very low miles with that kind of funds. Just last week I say a 93 max SE 5 speed black that had 31000 miles and they wanted 11500 for it. I also see a lot of 92-94 SEs with 50-100000. In a nutshell, I think your "get 3rd gen plan" is good
