Yesterday there were quite a few imports running. I watched a silver Type S coupe pull off consistent 15.8s@89mph during his 4 runs. His tires would roll over just a little on take off and then the traction control appeared to take over. I thought these things were 14 second cars bonestock? It doesn't take much skill to race one of these cars, right?

I watched two EBP Si's (minor mods) pull high high 15s to high 16s. One even had drag radials on a set of Lenzo 13s?!?!?

There was 96 auto Maxima with a intake running 16.0@86mph with a 2.58 60 foot (not bad for mostly stock and 116000 miles).

B16 CRX, slightly gutted, drag radials, and I/H/E running a best of a 14.6@93mph. In the hands of the owner, the car was running 15.7s. In the hands of his buddy who has a Mustang is ran mid 14s

93 blue Civic hatch, B18 LS, I/H/E, and 14" slicks. This car was sweet and thought for sure it would impress. It had a carbon fiber hood, 17" gun metal 7 spoke wheels, coil overs, no stickers. It was very clean and came in on a trailer. His best et......15.7@86mph *yawn*.

3000GT VR4 running 14.0@99mph.

Do these ets sound high to you guys? This is pretty typical of my track. What about you guys?

Hey Dave,
at our track (HRP) which is a fairly fast track there is a Type-S in our club that run consistent 14.6's. He only has a CAI for an accord modified for his car.

his profile can be found at www.houston-imports.com/registry/calvin.html

an auto maxima with just a stillen exhaust and VB ran consistent 15.5.

i usually don't know what si's run on test and tune night since they don't post the times on the board.

we have a couple of accord 5 speeds that run 15.5 with gutted interiors and all basic bolt ons i/h/e.

The elevation is about 1100'.

I even went to look under the hood of the Type S just to make sure it was a Type S. I guess my track is pretty slow because I don't see how you could mess up launching a Type S. A 15.8 to 14.6 is a pretty big difference.

Mid 15s with an Accord is pretty amazing. I haven't seen any model Accord break into the 16s

BTW, I also saw a black 96 VTEC Prelude running 15.1@90mph on drag radials. He seemed to be one of the better drivers out there.

why did they bring that civic in on a trailer when it was running 15.7? lol, I don't think intimidation is a factor in drag racing.
