Car Price?

Hello I have found a guy in texas selling a 1997 se.It's black on black leather.5 speed, fully loaded with climate control, power seats, sunroof everything. It has 126K.Supposed to be in super condition.Guys gonna sell it to me for $6100?Does that sound too good to be true?I looked up edmunds private and it's somewhere in the 6K range. Does this see like a pretty good price if it's in real good condition? Also does anyone on here have a carfax open account,my one month unlimited ran out last week. And you one get one month unlimited once every 6 months. It was on ebay last week and the winnng bidder didn't want to drive to pick it up the seller told me.Any input is appreciated.thanks

So you think that's too much for the year and miles?

The mileage is too high imho. I am the original owner of a '98 and I have about 90,500. The car you're looking at effectively has 2 more years of wear and tear at 126k, so I'd treat it like a 96. Don't be fooled by the power everything, that's just more stuff to go wrong. I hit a bump and the vent position will change with my electronic climate control. Plus if I'm not mistaken the 97 doesn't have the electronic ODO, so who even knows if that's the actual mileage? Don't mean to break your deal but any car with over 105000 miles is a lot of wear and tear and you have to budget something to bring it up to snuff. EVAP alone will run what, over $450? Any older Maxima I'd ask to see the records where the EVAP, boost valve, etc. was replaced, because that's a given somewhere in the 60-70's. A little twist of the ECU reset screw can disguise it for a while, so no service = no buy!

Yeah I think I might just pass on it.So how do you guys feel about buying maxima's w/ high miles? I also just found a 99 se auto 130K good over all condition $5k.I'm coming from a dsm background. So about everyone of those you find with 100K + have had motor work.I'm not scared of doing engine work.I just want to know how much life is left in the maxima's with 100k + miles.I mean if you get a pretty good deal what do I need to expect with a high mile car? And what's the evap thing frank was refering to exactly? Thanks
