Guys,
I just installed plugs, fuel filter, PCV valve and changed the oil in my car. To top it off I also washed the car and swept it out. Who cares, right? Well I did it all in 2.5 hours. It normally takes about an hour to wash my car and do a quick seep of the car. So figure I did all that tune up 'stuff' in 1.5 hours!!! I think thats FAST! The hardest part was the Fuel filter....have to love gas on a cut finger! The plugs took 30min to do!

Man...she rund great now!

How did you take off that clip to get to the pcv valve, and how did you take off the fuel filter?
thanks

PCV Clip

This wasn't easy. I ended up unhooking the bracket that holds the metal tube to the Intake plenium off. Then I could pull it back far enough to get the black rubber hose off. The clips on the rubber hose can be removed with a pair of plyers and some patience.
The Fuel filter wasn't easy either. I had to take a short phillips screw driver and unscrew the clamps on both ends. Then I yanked the fuel pump fuse and tried starting it a few times and once it wouldn't start I went back and pulled the rubber hoses off each end of the filter. This sounds easy, but it wasn't. When I yanked it off I had gas spewing everywhere. I jammed a golf tee in the end of the rubber hose and then got the new filter. I was a bit worried the gas would ignite after it had spewed all over the engine!!! I had the extinguisher all ready to go just in case
Both of these jobs took some patience and LOTS of commone sense. They aren't tough to do...just don't try to do them in 15min. and expect to be done.

There is an easier way to remove the fuel lines.

Instead of trying to pull off the hoses, use a pair of needlenose pliers and push the tubes off the barbs of the fuel filter. If you slip the pliers at the end of the tube, start working it down the barb. I was amazed how much easier it was to change it. Took 15 min. and a lot fewer skinned knuckles.

where is the PCV

value located in the 4th generation Maximas? I was thinking about getting it changed, but I wasn't sure if my car was due for a change since it only has 30K on it...
how was the spark plugs? did you use the NGK platinum--and did you need to regap them?

thank you--

Brian =)

here it is Courtesy of Jeff K

Jeff K got a good picture of where the PCV valve is on his site .. its part of his 60K tune up section
You could go to his MegaMax site to get more than enough info on tune ups and such but here's a pic in the meantime..
