Question about OSCAI

I plan on doing this to my car. It is obviously the most cost-effective air intake mod to make.
I was just wondering though, what are the chances of harming your engine this way? Does the amount of crap getting sucked into your filter increase? Will the filter get clogged up alot quicker?

If you're worried about water being sucked up in the motor by the lower hanging intake pipe, don't worry, it's not gonna happen. As for dirt and sand and stuff, yes more junk is sucked up the intake, BUT if you have a filter there are no worries. The stuff isn't getting past the filter. Every month or so, I pull my filter and shake out the junk. The fact that I'm seeing road sand in my filter indicates to me that the lower intake pipe is working.
