EGR Check Engine Light Mystery Solved! My 15 Yr Old Brother Solved It
Alot of people are having lots of trouble with the EGR.
Here are the solutions:
First of all clean it out. It gets very cruddy in there. If that dont work, replace the EGR assembly. If the light still comes on you need to replace the green sensor located on the yellow vacuum lines. H2Kfrosty has the pics, I hope he posts a link to the sensor to be pointed out. My brother whos 15 started working at a shop with this mastertech. He troubled shooted the problem while the old guy coached him to find the problem. I just drove the car from Atl to New Orleans on Sunday. I raced the car and no light. I hooked up the OBD II to the car and no hidded EGR code. The car does feel quite a bit quicker. I hope this helps those that have not figured out their problem.
Sensor is green and has three vacuum lines attached to it. Located on the same rail that fuel lines run towards the front of the car.
To solve my issue my brother replaced the EGR assembly and the green sensor. The sensor was not sending or triggering vacuum. Something of that nature. There was a foul fuel smell coming out of the car that made me want to throw up at times. Very bad smell.

Highly encouraged!!!!!brake cleaner, a small brush or a cloth will work fine. You can also scrape the gunk out with a flat screw driver. And remember to replace your gasket so you dont have any leaks.
