Please help....anybody with Koni adjustables
Got my Koni's put in by a performance shop earlier today in dallas....and the first thing i noticed was my alignment being about 1/4 off from normal....took it straight to firestone for their lifetime alignment and they told me since i have lowering springs that they cannot align my car properly....they said they know of only one place in all of dallas that could fix my problem. i have no clue what's wrong with the koni's...also the ride is a bit harsh, but im considering thats due to the settings on the struts....do u guys think firestone is correct or should i try taking it somewhere else and seeing if they can align my car properly. any suggestions would help...thanks in advance guys. should i have my car taken to another person to double check the koni installation??? im so freakin confused right now.
What kinda of Springs do you have with your Koni's? Any alignment shop shouldn't have a problem aligning the car. Sometimes they cannot accomoddate 18" rims, but it doesn't make sense that they would not align the car because it has lowering springs. If you still have the stock springs, the harshness is coming from the setting. But I think that even the softest setting will be harsher than your old struts.
Actually, they can't align some aspects of the car... Only the toe is adjustable... they can't adjust the camber/caster on our cars... but they can adjust toe in/toe out... Firestone could have realigned your toe in/out... they were BS you... not the first time I've heard them do this...
thanks for the reply guys.....im gonna call some other firestones around and see what they say. now im really wondering if the alignment is the problem b/c i saw a post earlier and someone just installed his sprints/koni's and he said his car drives perfectly straight. i've got the tirerack camber kit on there too. man i hope i didn't get screwed. by the way, i have Progress springs. any more suggestions would be great. thanks to those who have replied.....i'll keep calling around.
