Koni/Sprint install impressions and questions
Well, I finially got my Koni's and Sprint's installed yesterday.
First my impressions. Wow! I haven't gone out for any agressive cornering yet, but I drove 100 miles yesterday after putting them on ( mostly on the NYS Thruway ). I felt in total control of the car. It just stuck to the road, unlike the stock setup where the car felt like it was floating. I had the car up to 110ish last night and it was smooth as could be.
So far, no squeaks or rattles.
Now my questions:
1. How the hell do you adjust the rear Koni's? For the life of my I could not figure it out, and I think mine shipped with the wrong instrcutions. They are for a different model number. I think they are at the same setting from the factory ( I don't feel the car hopping to one side over bumps ) but I would like to make sure!
2. How does the camber kit install? I have the bolts from tirerack.com and the instructions say to replace the 12mm suspension bolts with the camber bolts. What 12mm bolts? I don't remember any.
3. Do I have to get an allignemnt? My car still drives straight as an arrow.
Pics to follow later this afternoon
How's the car look? Great!

hehe......theblue and I think a like. When you said "NYS thruway" I was like "Whoa, a local enthusiast".
SO where ya from? I'm in buffalo......I think theblue is in Rochester. I've got a friend in Gineva(at Hobart College) so I do make it that far every once in a while. We should have a WNY meet.

Another happy Koni customer
To adjust your rear, You need to remove it off the car.
With an allen key mounted on a bench vise insert the top end of your shock into the allen key. Now push you shock all the in (maximum compression)and turn. I forgot if clockwise sets the shock to full stiffness or vice-versa but your instruction should clear that up. One thing you will find is don't make your rear too stiff compared toyour fronts otherwise your car will tend to oversteer. I think the default factory setting ( least stiffness) is almost right for city driving.
Enjoy your new ride

I'm from Buffalo but go to school in Rochester. theBlue and I are friends.
How bout some pics after it settles. I'm getting sprints in a few days. I just sent out the money order for it just the other day. I'm still debating about what shocks to get. I won't be getting shocks in a while, so maybe by the time I'm ready the agp shocks will be out by then(crossing fingers
) Have you noticed a harsher ride w/ those springs?

Normal bumps still seem normal. Its just the larger ones that are a lot more noticable. I am dreading my first pothole.

How about Ellison park in Rochester maybe even have a picnic with the wifes/girl-friends/fiances/wanna make my girl/etc.

Yeah, the ride is a little harsher. Not nearly as harsh as I thought it was going to be though.

Re: I've been around since the early times of the forums -->
First was Maxima.org with the old Jambo server, then there were about three other boards after we were all thrown out of the main Jambo's replacement one and after being orfans (meeting in Maxima alternate forums say Shing's, Nabil's Russ2k's, and West Coast to name few) now we are back to maxima.org via Jambo's new server. It must have been about 2 or 3 years?.
I knew there were few maxima guys in Syracuse, and some in Toronto that were interested in meeting. We actually started talking about the Up State NY meet (including the Canadian folks) but it got cold and never met.
Sure it would be cool to get together and talk Maxima (maybe the Canmax folks would likt to join)
P.S. I'm also a RIT graduate.
Side comment: Did you check

Carlos, where did you come from? I thought that ejj and I were the only max.org people in Rochester. I drove ejj's car today and I must say that it is much better in ride comfort than I expected. If you want to meet up some time and talk maximas just let me know.
