Okay. I read your earlier post. As far as I know, they have confiscated detectors in the past. You can get them back after a period of time but you have to pay them to ship it to you. It could take a while for the red tape to clear. In the case of a commercial vehicle like a tractor trailer rig, you most likely will get ticketed and forfeit the detector.

I'll have to check on the VA law. My brother is a DC cop, but has tons of officer friends in Va where he lives. I believe they can take it, but they are required to give it back. How ****ed would you be if they took your V1 or Escort and scratched it all to hell?

Maybe because VA considers themselves to be a Commonwealth and not a state. I don't know.

I put mine up high to deter theft! As I stated b4 my last detector was nothing special, but none the less I did'nt want to give a possible theif an excuse to brake my window! I think detectors/jammers are also illegal in canada!

Flick of the light switch my friend. You come down the road and they turn on the radar. You have no time to react and your caught, unless you are picking up cars ahead being targeted.

That's how I got my first speeding ticket in my driving life. It's a sneaky but effective tactic they use. The V1 did work to confirm that my picture had been taken by the FHP car.
