how to keep wire mesh from rusting?

i want to make a wire mesh grille for my 96 because somebody stole the gold emblem from the front. i dont want the mesh to start rusting after a while. what do you guys use/do to keep it from rusting? thanks

simple...

spray paint it. If you want that aluminium/silver look, just spray paint it silver. That's what I did and after a year, no rust.

i tried that on my previous car. sprayed it silver, but it still rusted and looked ugly after a few months. i didn't think it would rust with CA weather, but mine did. maybe it was the paint that i used. what kind of paint did you use?

hmmm.. i don't remember but I know i got it from walmart. It really shouldn't matter, just go to home depot and tell them what u need it for.

Also, put like 2-3 coats of it on.

Rustoleum makes spray can paint, that might be your best bet.

oh yeah, i think that's the brand of spray paint i used.
