Transmission Pan bolt with sealant

I'm about to drop my transmission pan to put in VB mod and install a trans temperature sensor. I realize that the bolts from the factory had a sealant on them. I called dealer to see if they had those bolts in stock and they don't even carry them. They say they just use the original ones. I'm wondering how many people have put on the original bolts without changing em and not had leaks.

I wonder how many people buy new bolts everytime they remove the pan. Pretty close to zero, I bet.

I've reused tranny bolts and had no leak problems.

on the auto tranny - re-use the existing bolts, but it's a very good idea to get a new pan gasket from the dealer - the old one tends to crack when seperating the pan from the tranny.... make sure to clean the surfaces off very well.

new gasket and oe bolts it is then. Thanks for all the input. It makes me a little more confident. I'll be glad to get those magnets cleaned off.

Did yall know that NAPA sells the gasket for $3 and Dealer for $15? I'll let yall know how the NAPA looks in comparison.

They're supposed to be torqued to 110 in lbs which translates to about 9 ft lbs. Did you guys just do it by hand? or use a microtorq?
