Question about 17" stock wheels on 2000 SE
I was at the dealer service yesterday and saw this black 2000 SE parked, I went to look at it and it had 17" stock rims (same as I have), but he had new rubber on them. It was 235/45 ZR17. It looked a bit widder than my 225/50 R17(stock size). But his new tires 235/45 looked very good on those rims. They didn't look like they were bulging out on the rim. And wheel gap was the same as mine.
So is it possible to put 235/45 ZR17 on those stock 17" rims? I know that the rim is 17X7.
Thanks.

I was thinking about that B4 I got my rims but
most of the tires I read said they wanted 17x8 rim size .. so I figure let me not push it. The way I drive I didn't want the tire to pop off the rim in an exit ramp.
Re: I would not recommend it -->
yeah that what I was thinking too that for Stock 17" rim it is narrow for 235 tire, but when I looked at it on that guy's car, it looked very good, didn't look like the tire didn't have enougth space there, wasn't bulging out either.
