Sunroof can tilt up But it hides inside the roof....

Moonroofs can tilt up but "hide" over roof -- Like a mini spoiler....

The differences are night and day sorry couldn't resist...

I don't think the label really means much anymore. There used to be some distinction in the past, but now automakers use the terms as they please...

weird. so your logic says that if it's painted (can't see through) makes it sun? uhh... well, anyway the option for my 04 is listed as sunroof. I thought a moonroof only cracked open and not all the way? If my visor is open, ?roof closed, the sun shine through.

Now if you were to say that since mine is tinted=moon and clear=sun, then that would make sense to me

this makes more sence to me.

metal opens up for the sun but doesnt let anything in while closed

glass opens up for the sun and lets the moon be seen while closed.

a moon roof has a pull out shade if u want to see through but not open. The sunroof takes part of the body of the car out of the way, old school cars have those...

I heard that a moonroof slides back and tilts up and the sunroof only tilts up.
