sold my maxima today

and now im semi depressed

i traded it in on an 01 pathfinder, they gave me 10800 for my 99 gxe with a few cosmetic mods,

the dealer said those are what brought my trade in so much, we all know how car dealers inflate some numbers for others...

i gave the dealer the key, and just stopped and looked at my car one last time, its like sending a son off to war, odd,

i knew i loved my car almost as much as my family, hopefully the pathfinder will bring me as much joy as the max did.

i was tempted to take off my billet grill, diamond cut corner lights, strut bar, automagic chrome/pearl razor shifter, indiglo gauges, and chrome rings (which would have fit my pathfinder) ,, but i didnt . i did take off my maxima.org license plate frame which i will hang up in my office...

i will miss her =(

i will continue to post and lurk here, this has been one of the best communities i have ever been a member of, maybe one day in the future i will be able to afford an 05 or 04 maxima and rejoin my brothers... sigh.

on a side note, does anyone know where i can get custom pathfinder parts, maybe a custompathfinder.org or redlinepathfinder? i doubt i will ever find as much support for my max as I will my pathfnder.

not sure i would say you did well since i could NOT fit in a pathfinder yet i fit well in the max. imho you really got cheated on front seat space. but i guess you can haul stuff now.

hope you have good times with the new nissan

well im 5'10 and wife is 5'8 so, leg room is not a problem,

over all i like the car, its got the VQ35DE engine

no denying thats not a powerhouse...

my only concern now, is will my car look the same as everyother pathfinder on the road?

after looking it over, there really isnt much i need to change, i would LOVE to put a billet grill in (saw on one the new pathfinder armadas and i was drooling) but i dont think this grill is shaped good enough to replace it..

wheels are ok, could be bigger, thats a big chunk of money, i know i can replace the shifter, i just want the exterior to look a little different from the outside.

any suggestions,, im sure i will put in a dvd system for the kid, but whatelse,, hmmm

10800 on trade for a '99 GXE, I think you did pretty damn well. that seems really high. You'd be lucky to get that in CDN dollars here.

Good luck with the Pathfinder!

I understand this completely. I traded off a 1982 Chevy Silverado that my dad and I completely restored and modified together. It was sittin' on 36" Super Swampers, a 3" body lift and a 4" suspension lift (yes, I went the other direction /\ !!!) New motor, trans, paint, exhaust....I could go on and on about it and the last time I saw it I was driving the max off the parking lot.

I sure can't go mudding or off-roading in the Max, or at least get as far...
