How harmful is firework sparks on Maxima paint?

The guys next door had about 3 hours worth of bottle rockets and roman candles and other flying objects and the ash falls all over the place and the max was covered in the red paper stuff that falls from the sky, I hosed the paper and dust/gunpowder stuff off but Im just wondering if one of those glowing hot ashes were to fall on the paint, how bad can it be? dont see any burns marks but just wondering

I would say you are probably o.k., by the time those little ashes and things fall out of the sky and onto your car they should be pretty cool.

i got into a fight with my neighbor yesterday because they accused my fireworks that we lit in the middle of the street caused a chip in her brand new clk230 kompressor. she started *****ing about us having the decency to at least tell her so that she can cover her brand new car up. The chip was right above her headlights. I don't believe razzle dazzle fireworks can cause paint to chip off and there were no burn marks either. what a dumb ****

what kind of cover is good enough for a Max? I see cheap $30 eBay ones and $300 ones that is just too much.

Any crappy cover will help against the elements but sparks tend to burn stuff, especially the clear coat. The paint itself is quite resiliant but it's the clear coat that will burn and flake away...
