Just wanted to say hi......... I'm a 36 year old car nut. Owned close to 50 cars, every single one save for one truck, and one work beater have all been hi-po cars. Right now I have a '95 Z28 Camaro ( low 13's pretty close to stock) and a '91 AWD Talon ( will blow the doors off the Camaro soon). I'm selling the Camaro, its been the most relaible car I've ever owned even tho its had 200+ passes down the quarter. I just love DSM's a little more (this is my 4th) and one money pit is all I wanna have now. To replace the Camaro I want something comfortable and reliable-with a little bit of performance. I've settled on either a 4th gen Max that HAS to be an SE 5 speed, or if that's too tough to find I'm getting an SC400 Lexus in the '92-95 range. I'm a mechanic and if I get a Maxima I'l attempt to learn everything about it I can.because NO ONE works on any of my cars. The only way some other person touches it is for inspection and tires. I've never had a foreign car before save for one Honda (that was the POS work car I had-and I guess DSM's COULD be considered foreign) and I know some will snicker but almost every American car I've had has been totally relaible. I'm just kinda sick of the poor fit and finish of "older" American cars so that's why I'm jumping ship for my "nice" car. I've rebuilt many engines and transmissions, am a certified welder, plus have an electronics degree. I'm hoping as I learn alot about these cars I can be of some assistance here. Anyone selling a under 100k miles SE 5speed close to hear?? Might as well try to avoid the Lexus stigma early........lol.

welcome to maxima.org , scout out a nice 96 or 97 maxima. i live in a small town and saw a 97 for sale, it was black with beige leather, 5 speed, SE, body and interior was very good they were asking 4495. what a deal i thought.

man i need your mechanic skills, the local nissan dealership is building a new 3 story dealership from my frequent visits, lol !

if you get a max one day, check out the 96/97 models mine has been very reliable considering the daily abuse 155,000 miles, and the VQ30DE just laughs back and ask, " Is that all you got ?"

good luck man
