My custom B-pipe makes annoying clicking sounds..

You know, you sometimes get it on stock y-pipe after driving for a while, but now my B-pipe click all the time when engine is working and some time after untill it cools down. How do I get rid of that??

Thanks!

Clicking like it is hitting something while you are driving/going over bumps or clicking like it is really hot and then cooling down like the engine does after you turn it off? If it's the first, check underneath for clearance. If it is the second then I don't know, cheap metal used? I have custom b that is fine and it is made out of aluminized 14 guage steel.

No, the second. Like it heats up and then cools down. Will thermo-wrap help?

No do not use thermo wrap, it traps in moisture which can cause rusting

I've heard brand new cars do that, its the expansion and contraction of the metal when it cools down... Honestly I dotn know how to get rid of it.. its pretty normal

It will go away eventually. When I got my custom B-pipe installed (aluminized), it took about 4 weeks for all the "tinging" to go away. The sound you're hearing is the metal adjusting to the new bends.

So it's more or a "crackling" type sound?

Yea, like cracking, clicking, well you know, when engine is cooling after long drive. I had B pipe installed (aluminized) about 2 months ago.
Thanks for replies. So I will just won't give attention to it and turn music a little up . Hopefully it will go away a bit eventually.

My buddy used to have that really loud on his Norton Commando and lasted for the better part of a year. It's similar to an iron cooling down but then again how many of you guys ever iron your clothes (not a hater ......just making a joke)

Mr. Peabody (who actually used to iron shirts in an earlier life)
