Well, tonight I got a nice little present from the nassau pd - a ticket for expired inspection!! At least my SBA card kept me out of a speeding ticket (phew!) So anyway, anyone know how much the fine is? It doesn't say on the ticket. Also, i know i'm hoping against hope here, but it isn't a "fix it" ticket right? Like, it won't get wiped out if I show up with a new inspection?

Ah well...

Isn't it $55 or $65 something like that?

I got one too when I first got the car from my parents and I totally forgot about the inspection.

Looks like your situation is proof that PBA, PAL, PBC cards plates do not do anything but take money from your wallet. Why'd the guy give you a ticket if you support the Police? Why would you support the police? I got stopped for an expired inspection in my '99 and the guy told me to get it inspected. No ticket, no "SBA" card, no problem. I always think it's funny when people have "police" related plates, plaques, cards, stickers. They think that they're connected or something. Let me tell you, the only one that gets you off is a plate from the Justice Dept or your good attitude.

If you do the inspection within 24 or 36 hrs then send a copy of the receipt and it will be taken care of. Happened to me before. If you wait more than that then you will have to pay for the ticket. I would rather get a ticket for an expired inspection than speeding any day.

Hmm, i went around to a few places today and no one could fit me in a for an inspection. I could get it done tommorow morning (within 36 hrs) but it's sunday morning. Think I can get an extension because it's sunday and because most shops close early saturday? Guess it's worth a try.

Thanks for the info!
