I finally lowered my car yesterday w/ Progress springs and Illumina struts. I went in to get an alignment today and the guy told me that since my car is lowered, they don't have the numbers to adjust the camber properly. They can adjust the toe-in and toe-out fine he said, but my camber will be off.

He said that if I had my stock suspension, they know to use the camber numbers from Nissan to get it right. But I guess it's different with aftermarket.

Anybody have this problem? What did you do?

Also, do I have to wait a few hundred miles before I get alignment? Somebody told me to get it done ASAP, and someone else told me to drive it 300 miles before getting allignment.

 

They are just yanking your chain, find another place to get that done. Also, wait a week or so before getting an alignment as the springs have yet to settle since yesterday.

I dont' think they are lying...they just don't know. When you get your alignment just tell them to get it as close to stock specs as possible. You may not be able to get the camber exactly into spec but don't worry. Being off a little won't hurt. If they want to take the time they can adjust the strut bolts a little to get some camber movement, but it's not necessary.

Just tell them to get as close as they can to stock specs.

The spring settle thing is blown out of proportion most of the time. You can drive it without any worries. Just make sure you align it sometime in the near future

 

just got my progress/illuminas installed last week, gotta get an alignment also.........what is you're set at? mine is 3f/4r.....went a week with it at 3f/3r, and just changed it yesterday, and it is absolutely amazing. you place her, and she's there. oversteer is noticable accompanied with my sway bar, which is perfect for me, i don't jerk the wheel when driving ever, so not worried about the rear end breaking loose. i thought these things would never settle. i'm glad after a week it has alot. congrates on that, and now i have to get mine aligned to.

 

Sweet. I got mine set at 3f/3r. It's a b!tch to get to the back ones.

Anybody know what's up with the front springs? Does it matter what side does down? It's hard to tell. We put it with the sticker side down, like the rears are supposed to go. No problems so far.

my bestfriend and i just put it where it sat as best as possible. i don't think it is required to be a particular way, anyone can correct me if i'm wrong, but this is the conclusion we came up with.
