Hey guys, as you know I have an 01 Max with an awful looking bumper cover as a result of our thin paint. (Here's a pic: http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...83_28_full.jpg) My idea was to get a new bumper cover and paint it instead of trying to redo my original bumper. First question is will an 02/03 bumper cover and grill fit my car without any extensive modifications and second question is will I be able to transfer my AE front lip to the 02/03 bumper cover. Is this a good idea or would it be cheaper to just get my original stuff redone? Oh yeah, also where would be the cheapest place for me to purchase the 02/03 bumper cover and grill?Thanks in advance for your help!!

 

From what I understand, you can use a 02/03 bumper cover, but the AE lip won't fit anymore. I prefer the newer bumper over the older one, but then again, I'm biased.

 

Yeah, I like the 02/03 grill alot, espcially when put together with the bumper. That's why I want to upgrade to it if it's not too much more since my bumper really looks like crap. Since I have AE max though, if I didn't put the lip on the front my car would look weird.

 

Does anyone make a lip that is a good fit for the AE max to install on te 02/03 bumper?

 

When I put 2k1 headlight assemblies in a 2k3, there was a huge gap between the bumper and the bottom of the assemblies. When I put the 2k3 lights in my 2k1, it was a tighter fit than the orginal assemblies.

So, it seems that the design is slightly different from the 2k1 bumper to the 2k3 bumper since the headlight assemblies are slightly different.

So, if you put a 2k3 bumper on your 2k1, there may be this issue as well.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

As far as the AE kit, it probably won't fit the 2k3 since the design of the bottom is different. It would also look funny to have the AE kit on the other 3 sides and not the front. There are Stillen look alike lips that will go on the 2k3 bumper but look different than the AE kit, so again, it would look funny.

 

I guess I'll just get my bumper repainted, looks like it will be the easiest thing to do. Thanks for everyone's input!
