what's the coolest paint job?

The paint on my 96 max is at the end of it's road. There's little nicks and scratches everywhere, and this big hole where I sanded off rust on the trunk lid. My spoiler had to be drilled off, so we're proly gonna grab a different colored one from the junk yard one of these days (holes covered in electrical tape for the past 2 months) . Overall my max looks really bad, and I love it enough to waste some money to fix it.

Im gonna do my own paint job, in a rental spray booth (if I can find one). Im not sure what style I should go with, heres a couple ideas:

jet black:
5% window tint
black rims
black paint with clearcoat
new black leather interior (my interior is starting to look a bit aged and it's tan)
some logo on hood (black rider/shadow/black widow/ect...)

colorful cop magnet:
some cool bright colored design I haven't thought up yet
nice shiny rims

anyone else got ideas?
where can I get that color changing paint?
What is your dream paint job?

i love a not-too-shiny blue, or a dark red (i.e. kandy apple red), but if you can keep it clean, nothing beats a bran new black paint job

I'd say go with BMW Titanium Silver. Hands down one of the best factory paint jobs you will see on the road. It almost looks chrome like in direct sun. Very classy look too.

my friend is getting a pearlescent midnight blue on his 93 prelude. should look pretty good because hes going to go with a dark blue/black theme and mix in various carbon fiber pieces and gunmetal wheels.

Yeah I too have not seen full pics of that Max. .. I believe it started its life off as a Rosewood Max, and it belonged to someone here on the org, but I may be wrong.

I also remember seeing a bunch of high-res pics of a totally chromed out 2004 Audi A8L over in Saudi (or somewhere around there). . . it looked simply amazing. Same goes with the chrome new Mercedes' pics (they had an E500, C320 wagon, SL55, CL55, all chromed out, anyone remember these?

Ludacris, you seriously think flat black is bandwagon? I'd very loosely agree with you. Baby blue, yellow and dark blue are more bandwagonesque in this area. I'd love to do flat black. Its easy to redo if you get scratches and its cheap.

Flat black is played out. Not so much on a max, but sooo many cars have are doing it. In Super Street they alone have done 2 cars with the flat black, a silvia and a wrx.

Yep, just like what the whole JDM and drift thing has become. Those light pastel colors were the bandwagon a few years ago here...flat black looks good when done right tho, esp on hot rods.

what I really want is something that stands out. As a person im not usually the one to try and fit in (I wore a recess-peices halloween costume from 4th grade to school once) . I want something cool that will stand out.

flat black: what is this stuff? krylon? how do I do it and what does it look like?

chrome: where can I buy the paint? (chrome sounds really cool)

bright colors: which color stands out the most?

color changing paint: where do I get this? what's it look like?

if i was repainting i'd do a midnight black. where it's black but in the light sparkels kinda metallic blue...black is hot.

to stand out i'd do red. look at the custom maxima red one. shame it was destroyed.

IMO, don't do anything but stock cause there will always be that speck of orignial color in the trunk, doorjambs, or engine bay. Maybe its not abig deal but that would ALWAYS annoy me.
