JB Weld a muffler on?

Just an idea that popped in my head when I saw the replacement mufflers being sold by WSP for the 3rd gens. While they come with a muffler clamp, WSP recommends having the muffler welded on.

Is it possible to use JB Weld to secure the muffler onto the B-pipe?

Dude, JB weld is like epoxy or glue? Would you superglue a muffler on?

It's a steel-reinforced epoxy. The original JB Weld is good up to 500F, which might actually be OK back at the muffler... so theoretically it would work. But we'd still have to drive up to NY and kick your *** (with one of Matt's stage 2 Lower Tie Bars as a weapon, no less)

I've seen JB weld temporarily hold blocks togehter...muffler would probably hold, its ghetto and won't last long probably. I used it to plug a hole in my old oil pan..lasted for a year also have done IC pipes and BOV flanges with it on some HMT projects...ghetto fab kings!

Might hold up for awhile. But I would think the vibrations would kill it. Not worth it because it only costs a few dollars to do it right

And don't forget to bash it in with a hammer to get it in there really tight. That should do the trick.
