I6 Diesel Maxima engine

Hey all, i am new here, so please, go easy on me!
not too long ago, the viggiecar.com domain went for sale, along with it was a Datsun 240z, i think with a Maxima 2.8 I6 diesel engine in it. when was the last year for these engines in north america? also, can they be installed into a newer Maxima? thanks!

I don't know who in their right mind would put an early I6 diesel motor into a 240z but it would fit/work. But most modern maximas use a transverse V6. Now unless you have a 1983' or older RWD maxima, think about putting a I6 engine transverse into a maxima that was designed for a transverse V6 engine.
