yep! *knocks on wood*

I got it at 43k and it was trouble free until about 74k miles when it ate up a coil and had the characteristic 4th gen knock sensor failure, but that's it. Just routine maintenance and wear and tear items. Right now the A/C is dead, but I'm 99% sure the compressor is still working fine but that it just sprung a leak somewhere and I lost all the coolant. I noticed that it was slowly getting less and less cold over the summer. It finally let go a few weeks ago but isn't a big deal anymore since it's cold out now and I can take my merry ole time getting it fixed.

Cool

Mine turned 200k a week ago. So I treated her to some seafoam, a TB and PCV scrubbing, fresh oil and fuel filters and a set of new NGK coppers.

been there done that, and i get to do it again

100k is like an accomplishment but at the same time makes the car seem much older.....

Every car may parents have owned bearly make it past 100k (all crap american cars), except the Maxima. Still happy at 13xk. Got to love the Made In Japan seal of aproval. Now that I think about it I have payments on mine till 2007. At my milage rate it will have about 130k by then. lets hope it has no problems like the 96.

maximas should last for a while if taken care of and if something always happens, do a engine swap and you will be happy. i remember when my old speedo hit 100k. i took pictures also. congrats.

That is so funny becuase my parents have had the same luck. Every car they have had even approach 100k completely dies on them (mosty Chrysler minivans and Jeeps). My Maxima has just over 106k miles on it and my mom is constantly worried that it is going to break down and leave me stranded on the side of the interstate. Hopefully we have started a new era - every car in our family now is powered by a VQ.

Awesome pic. . I remember I wanted to take a pic of myself doing 100 while reaching 100,000 miles . . . . (i know have close to 130k on my 97). I actually got pulled over as I passed 100k , my odometer read 100000.1 as I was pulled over on the side of 9W by Alpine NJ. I was doing 80 . . he let me go though .

Congrats
If you have the cash you should have the a/c repaired. If coolant can leak out.... moisture can leak in and hurt the compressor.
