What are the diffs between H4 VS 9004???

Looking at both bulbs i been only so far seen H4 uses more wattage but both bubls create same amount light intensity. Also why is it that sylvanias H4 says for motorcycle only????

the bases for H4's are different. not only that, the filament placement for H4's are vertical, while 9004's are horizontal. H4's are a different design and are used in the 2000-2001 Maxima's in USDM cars IIRC.

The Cefiro housings also use H4s IIRC. I am not sure but I think the H4 is better than even 9007 but could easily be wrong. I know 9007 destroys 9004.

literally...night and day.

9004 is just 2 pancakes on the wall.
H4 has a nice cutoff pattern.

the cutoffs are very sharp, as good as you'll get before going with projectors

yes that's why i tell people not to put HIDs in their 9004.

H4 fares a little better.

i'm interested in this H4 bees knees...

Wouldn't the different filament arrangement screw up the light projection (reflection) resulting in the blinding of so many innocent drivers?

Yes, plus the base of 9004 and H4 bulbs are totally different, you'd have to do custom work to make them fit properly in the headlamps.

the two are compleatly different. H4 is all metal, even has a shield in it for a nice cut off. 9004 are just plain old skool junk. You guys are getting me thinking........9004 to 9007 was good......how about 9004 to H4? that would take some work.........and I just may try it out.

I'm thinking since your a 4th gen you can probably somehow do a cefiero/4th gen hybrid since cefiero's use H4 bulbs according to the person who posted above

the thing is the bulb has to be in the correct spot inside the light to get a good pattern. And our lenses suck butt anyway. I have an extra 96 light to screw with....similar to the 3rd gen light. I guess there is only one way to find out huh?!

if you're going to do all that work with 9004 to H4 might as well get a bixenon projector in there and call it the day.

Mr****s95SE because I think they look like **** on a maxima. I really hate the blacked out ones. They fit crappy, and just dont do it for me. Yes the beam patter is better but thats it. I cant justify splending that much money on a cosmetic only mod that fits horrible. If I had an I30 then I would do it.

DanNY youre right. thats the reason why I have not even considered the idea of H4. Projectors would be the way to go no matter what. But I may just get a $5 bulb and mess around.
