Does anyone remember how their car was in stock form?

After driving to Detroit for 3 hours from Cleveland in a '98 Toyota Camry 4-cyl I realized that in comparison my Max is very loud with its intake/y-pipe/GReddy. Perhaps I regret modding my car?![Frown](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Though the Eibach/Tokico handles the highway well, it makes more noise than the stock Camry setup (which seems to perfrom better on turns).
Or maybe I'm just I'm getting old.

i don't regret it...not yet at least...
when people get in (like at work) they're like wtf? it is louder than normal with the CAI and Y but hey that's my thing and if they don't like it...well....that's another story...(remember i work with 35 yrs old+ people and im 21...most of them don't understand or care to...
basically its a love hate relationship...i hate the noise sometimes...i love it at WOT....i hate the bumps now but the twisties are so much fun...my brother wonders which car takes bumps better...his 88 T-bird or my max

days of stock
I remember those days when i first got my car. It was only like 4 months ago and i'm already 2K into my car plus another like 5K to go. The noise and squeaks are a little annoying sometimes but like it's been said at WOT it makes me hard. And when i line up next to someone it's all worth it. I just ordered my lowering springs so i can't wait to hit the twisties. I'm 18 and still have a lot of stupid things to do.

Let's see, stock the car was quiet and rode smoothly. But it was also ugly, wallowed in the turns, had a horrible stereo, and the tactile feel of all the controls sucked. Also, it was a freaking boat with horrible wheel gap.
Modded, the car is loud, rattles, not noticably faster at all, and has to be driven incredibly carefully. But it also looks incredible, corners almost flat, has a big booming stereo, absolutely no wheel gap, and has a much better feel overall.

My Maxima has developed some bumpiness over minor potholes and I have learned to avoid the larger ones. Yes, the ride is rougher than when I bought her. However, it is definetely worth it.
I purchased mine two months ago and it had the FACTORY struts and springs on it. (112k) And some tires that manufacturer needs to be shot for making. Now it is like a new car.
