I fugured the rubber wouldn't transfer very much heat. Interesting and inovative ideas but it seems excessive.

Ok, where can I find a 2000 2001 Variable intake manifold??? I can probably find one in a scrap yard, but what parts do i need??

2000 vi upper manifold
2000 vi lower manifold
2000 throttle body
injectors with connectors
egr guide tube
2000 rear valve cover
2000 rear coils (3)

thats most of it, from what i understand. there are some more things you will need.
