How would an auto 99 SE do against a 00' Acura TL from a dead stop?

Ask to check eachother's trunks for NOS. Then when hes at your car, and youre at his, drop in a sack of bricks or something. Then maybe youll win. Or just cheat on the takeoff and anticipate the greenlight.

99SE would probably lose

00 TL is clocked between 6.7~7.7 (I think) 0-60. I think 6.7 is too low, I figure a mid 7 easily though.

99SE's, esp. in California emissions, are almost sure to lose.

TL would win -->

Almost no contest.

TL does 0-60 in a reported 6.7s. Driven conservatively, a TL might do 0-60 in the low 7's. 4th Gen maxima automatics do 0-60 in the 7.6-8.0s range.

I will tell you how a 95 Max vs. 00 TL soon.

My friend just bought a 00 TL not long ago. He wants to race me so he can see if his car is fast or not. I told him that it has 225hps but not fast as the Maximas esp. 2000+. We are friends to it is not a gruge match. But we are playing for dinner!! I got a few from him already for racing our Maximas. Just waiting for him to break in the car. It should be ready after next week. Stay Tune!!

If someone really wants to race...

I'm game. I don't recommend it as I'd like to preserve my clean driving record, but if someone in the Bay Area is down, we can have a go at it.

My uncle has a `01 I30t. He drove my dad's TL and his I30 back to back and he said the TL feels faster. The tranny is definitely more responsive... but the I30 is also noticably heavier than the Maxima.... and we're talking 99SE vs. 00TL so that's irrelevant.

BTW, I'm pretty sure both cars are traction limited.

It will be a close race, At the Ilegals polomax raced a TL and he won->

He has a 96 auto SE, And at the time he only had a intake and a muffler. But the TL had a body kit and 17" chrome rims. Pretty close race but I think a maxima can do it.
