I know

I figure $40 for Mikes rings, $40 for Jeffys brackets, $250 for the calipers, $100 for the rotors, and what was it, $80? for the lines = $510ish, say $600 for that full setup then what, $150 for his rear kit (bracket + rotors) and you have a nicely balanced, excellent performing 13" BBK for under $800.

Plus it looks stock

I don't. But I have 1" larger rear rotors to get my brake bias near stock again. Big difference. And forturnately, us 3-gen guys have an inexpensive way to upgrade (I sell the rear bbk brackets for the 3-gen guys. )

Your set up is basically enough for your car...

Their brake kit is tremendous... Yea its going to give you zero brake fade on the highway but unless you have some sticky icky tires, too big can be bad as well.

Exactly... which is extremely reasonable... I dont see a point in having a brake kit worth half the price of my car.. literally... when I can make one for a fraction of the price that will perform just as well. I mean lets be real, you cant put a price on brakes and your safety... but we dont drive Ferraris

I think it would be plenty for his car as I don't think he's boosted.

besides Matt's kits use the 300zx calipers and smaller rotors and I haven't heard anyone complain about fading with them, and Jeff's are .4" bigger

I doubt you could bring out brake fade with a 6th gen using matt's kit

Atlanta, GA does have a ton of highly modded maximas. My city has 1 lol.

Chicago can get a pretty good track meet going, I've seen 10+ maximas at the track two or three times in the last 3 years or so. I suspect that a regular Maxima or Nissan meet would have even more, though I don't bother to drive out if it's not for racing or working on my car or my friend's cars.

I am thinking that eventually my beater might turn into a track car, because I don't think the big turbo car will be the best thing for the road course. But if I did that then I would have to find yet another daily driver

Actually there are three other guys I know of from the .org who are from my city, one of them has a ypipe and stuff. The other two I have never met and I don't know what they have, I'm thinking strut bars and clear corners, along those lines. And there is one max I see that has gold wheels and is lowered, so he might have some stuff done too who knows.

nah why would you? wasnt your old max your daily driver? You could always bring it to be what it was again and still use it for the occassional track session...

and big blue could be taken out to play with the big boys

I've yet to really meet anyone on the board. I've talked to Dixit for like 5 minutes when I was buying my old rims from him. Most car people I run into are **** heads. So I can see how you say a lot people are stuck-up if they have a nice car. There are those that don't know really anything about cars except how to spend a ton of money to make them look nice, tools that have mom and dad paying for everything, and then those that are down to earth people that do it for the joy and love of cars.

There are a ton of members in GA, but the meets are always small. I can't say anything on that because I've mist every one, but I'm also 2.5 hrs from ATL.

Yes but the point of a BBk is to reduce Brake fade... lets be realistic.. anyone who is going to do triple digit speeds on the highway is stupid first and second most likely going to be someone who is boosted.. since its alot quicker to get up there. If your doing road courses or auto X, brake bias is just as important as having gigantor rotors up front and stock ones out back.

I'd be completely satisified with an $800 kit that I cant brake a sweat in while driving on the highway or stop and go city driving.

That on the other hand is just overdoing it.

yes, but in the time it takes a NA engine to go from 40-140 a FI one could do it 3 times

I could see the price of the car not being a factor if it was a car designed to go fast, but cmon, if you really want to go fast, you aren't going to buy a maxima.

besides, how would one compensate brake bias with your kits? It just does not seem like it is a well thought out product. No offense but that can be dangerous, even to the most experienced drivers.

I don't believe I've mentioned cost but others have. But cost without proper justification or explaination isn't enough for me. Especially when it just consists of "all the racers use it" "extensive testing by tet".

Well my old car was used as my daily driver but was not very comfortable to drive daily. Stiff suspension, loud, etc. Not the type of car you really want to take a girl out in. Also my main thing is having an extra car to drive because I HATE being limited timewise when I'm working on the car. There's nothing worse than not being able to work on your car because you have to have it back together in 2 hours so you can go to work or to class. I want a car that I don't have any of those concerns with.

Becareful what you say...

http://www.seloc.net/modules.php?nam...t=d+b&start=15

GA Multicar meet.. we had ~20 maxima's

Top Element, we agree on the brakes, but what stock suspension and tires person are you talking about?.. and yes, you and jeff are correct, if you do it right, no mushy pedal feel and close to stock brake bias.. cost is another thread gentlemen

Haha, funny thread. Yea GA has a very wide variety. I think we USED to be the state w/ most boosted Maxs.

It's cool to think about how many are in Cobb alone...

With 100+ .org members in GA, if all of them actually came to a meet, we'd show the northeast who runs this...

there are like 5 different discussions in this thread alone.

btw- the ATL guys are awesome about helping other orgers out too!

dixit, bags, bijan and jaime have all helped me out at one time or another.

I started the import scene in GA, I never get any recognition.

I'll get them up soon. Install was more of a PITA than I expected. Not because of the new alternator, but because of the crap job a previous shop did when installing my SC back in the day. I was missing brackets and bolts that had to be replaced.

It is a really nice unit though.
