alright i wen to a shop today to order my rims... turns out 18" chrome momo sports w/ tires is $4200. As many people on the board have suggested, the guy said I should just get the PCW (same rims) which are only $1500 and he'd get me a momo centerpeice if I wanted.. dispite the fact the rim wouldnt say MOMO on it, theres no difference. I dont wanna do this beause i think it would be ricey Anyone think it would be ok? Do they make any nice nissan/nismo centerpeices?? Or should i just keep the PCW one on it?? Thanks

I wouldn't get the momo centerpiece

that'd be kind of dumb, because they'll still look tight but your just tyring to fdake the brand with that other centerpiece. Somebody who knows there stuff will notice when they look at them then make you feel really stupid also. Not sure if there are any good nissan ones, what does the PCW piece look like?

Who cares what people think....

if having Momo on your rims is important TO YOU, than put it on them and since they can't tell the difference than go ahead. why not just keep PCW on there? is the Momo name that important to show everyone? and screw what people think about your rims, unless they put that extra $2700 for the Momos than IMO their criticism DOESN'T even counts!
Personally since I'm a poor college student and was raised on Payless shoes, brand names mean nothing to me!

hmm

yes I dont want momo centerpeices for that reason.. If i saw a car with momo or whatever centerpeices on non momo or whatever rims.. i'd make fun of them so bad.. so im not even gunna risk it I just wanna get a nice lazer etched nismo centerpeice... anyone know where I could get it? As far as the PCW i think it just says PCW and has a small panther on it or something.

I say do whatever you can live with yourself for doing.. if you think its fine to you.. it doesn't matter what the F.. someone else says.. we have to be individuals and we can't all share the same opinion..

as far as quality goes... I know Konig (knockoffs) that look like other rims.. the quality sux.. and they dent easily

some food for thought

hmmmmmm let's see $4200 for rims that say MOMO or 1500 for the same exact rims minus the MOMO, which can be easily added..hmmmmmm this is the kind of thing that makes you wonder if other people opinions are worth $2700. Well my opinion on the matter is call me RICE, linguini, lo mein, lasagna or whatever else you could think of. while you think that I'm just a ricer or you think about how dumb that is.....just realize that with the $2700 you can seriously think about saying hello to a supercharger or some coilovers so you don't have some pretty rims on your new 4x4 max.

If your concerned about looks, get knock offs, if your concerned about quality, get good ones

My opinion...

I actually like the momos. I know there are other rims out there that might look like them, but I still would prefer the originals no matter what anyone thinks. Its like everything... There is generic everything (i.e. pop-tarts and soda). Sure it might almost taste the same, but you know the difference. Same with car parts. If you are in a position to buy MOMOs, I would. That price might be a little high though (4,200). My friend just bought 20" anteras (non-chrome and he paid 3,300 w tires). I can check the price w/ my friend tommorrow.

But do they break easily? I want the Tantrums, and I know they're relatively light, but are they fragile?

My Two Coppers

Get these if your going to spend that much, plus they are way lighter than the momo's.

Re: Re: Re: Konigs?

People have ran with them no problems.. lots of people.. just that if you live where i live.. or you live in NYC.. you will have to do some pot hole doddging because one good hit and your rims are dented..

I have the original rims to the Tantrums.. the 5Zigen GT8's .. and the amount of times i have fell in pot holes and heard a bang and went to check and nothing happend i am truthfully grateful.. when i checked online for Tantrums (what i originaly wanted) they were $1800 for 18 inch with tires.. i found a place near me and bought my 18 inch GT8's for $1600 with nitto 555 ZR tires, mounted and blanced.. so you can get what you want if you just look
