Alignment needed after strut replacement?

My rear struts went bad and I just had them replaced. The shop that installed them didn't say anything about an alignment, but another mechanic told me it would be a good idea to get one after replacing struts.

What's the general consesus on this? Alignment needed or not after replacing both rear struts?

If only the rears were replaced, you don't need an alignment.

on a 3rd gen, you will need a 4 wheel alignment.. the independent rear has too many things you have to unbolt when you take it apart...
