The weight difference is pretty big. The one piece is like 35lbs to 40lbs. I had a custom made 2 piece to replace them and it was around 20 lbs or less. The aluminum hat really save alot weight. You need some 1 piece Stillen BBK rotors? I can sell you mine.

Oh...you don't want to buy them from Stillen. The quote I got was over $1G.

I just weighed my 1-piece and they are 22lbs +/- 0.5lb.

Where is the Precision/PBC website where you had them custom made?

Talk to Jonas Smith ( jonas@precisionbrakescompany.com ). Hopefully they saved the specs on my rotors so they can just cut you the aluminum hat. The rotor is off the shelf item. Or else you would have to mail them your 1 piece rotor and that would sucks because I went through that already. The down time, the shipping cost and the wait.

Total was $588.11 shipped to my door. Oh...tell them Tony Chang told you about it. He should remember me since I did this in Aug. of 2004.

YOU THE MAN~!!!!

Yeah, I thought that thing was 30lbs EASY. OEM rotor felt like a paper weight in comparison. I was surprised it was only a 7lb. difference, so I weighed it again.

Are you sure the PBC hat/rotor are still ~20lbs.?

Hehe, but that's for real AP rotors and Stillen's aluminum hats. I already gave Icey our price on the Stillen rotors.

1MAX2NV- PB had a rotor off the shelf to fit your calipers? What pad depth are they made for? It seems like there is quite a bit of heavy rotor material between the bottom of the pads and the hats, which is detrimental to weight savings. I know my current rotor/hat combo weighs less than my stock rotors, but don't have an exact weight yet. And I would feel safer with 12 mounting bolts instead of 8.

I don't really remember how much lighter the 2 piece were.

That's what Precision Brakes told me...the rotors were off the shelf and only the hat was custom. The thickness of the 2 piece rotor must be pretty close to the thickness of the 1 piece. I used the same pads. For half of the price compare to Stillen, i'm happy with them.

Oh..another thing. In my pictures, I had the left and right side mixed up. I fixed them a day later.

The pad depth is not related to rotor thickness. The rotors must be the same thickness to be used in the same calipers. Which pads are you using?

I'm sure they are the same width since the fit on the calipers are perfect. I'm using Hawk street pads.
