Tanny hose questions.
#1
I went to Autozone yesterday to get some tranny hose for the coller install. I asked for transmission line hose and he gave me something that said FUEL/EMISSIONS on it. I asked him if it would hold up to the high heat of tranny fluid and he assured me it would. I thought someone here said you could ONLY use tranny line for this install?? I compared it to the one in the Hayden kit and it looks EXACTLY the same...I mean EXACT.
So...can I use the GAS/EMISSIONS line, or should I go to another shop and DEMAND ruberized transmission line?
Thanks,

I went through the same thing. I looked up the SAE specs for the two hoses, well I tried. There are different specs for the two types of hose. The fuel line should work. I used it (fuel line) for the line going from the new trans cooler back to the transmission. The fluid is cooler and has less pressure there.

F'ing great!
Not that $4 is a lot to me, but when I take it back I KNOW the guy is going to pitch a fit about it and not want to take back a piece of cut hose. I knew he was wrong about that too. I think I will go to another place and ask.....what an ordeal!
