SE has no speed limiter (a stock 5-speed is capable of 142 MPH), while GXE's often seem limited in the 110-ish range (due to the tires). SE also has thicker front swap bar, and the springs are better for handling.

Basically, an SE can get every single option (leather, heated seats, power sunroof, spoiler, leather steering wheel, ect) yet still have a 5-speed (Unlike GLE, which can have all options but no 5-speed).

A stripper GXE 5-speed weights 2885 lbs, lightest model (so it may be the fastest, but not by much).

That's for a 4rth gen Max

Third gen - both models don't have a speed limiter and the 92-94 SE come with a VE30DE other than a VG30E and the VE's are capable of going over 145. For more info on the third gen here's a website. http://members.csinet.net/tisch/maxima/comparison.html

They have the same engine. Only third gens have different engines between SE and GXE.

as far as the 5th gen, the differences are the same between the GXE and SE trims. 2002-2003 GXEs had a bit more standard equipment, like 16" alloys, driver's power seat, which on prev. models could've been ordered as a C&C package, and no longer equipped with manual tranny.
