Technical guru's look inside

Need some help on a few specifics.

1. What is the spline count on the input shaft for a 99 i30t auto tranny?

2. If one output shafts is capped will the tranny then apply all availible power to the other axle?

3. If so, then will that in turn cause premature wear on the diff.?

4. If it does cause premature wear will welding the diff cause one to loose any kind of performance out put on the live axle due to the capped axle shaft being welded in unison(sp?), or is that completely negligable because there is nothing on the end of the capped axle shaft to create parasitic losses?

5. If all things point to being able to cap an out put shaft with no serious adverse affects. Would the alteration of said tranny, to be used with only one drive shaft, present any mountains in the way of a reliability issue; seeing how the tranny would no longer be used in the exact demensions in which it was originally designed?

Thanks in advance for the replies guys. And if you don't know, then please don't speculate.

Thanks Kev.

He tried to answer, but didn't quite get what i was talking about. Keeping an open dialog on it though, so maybe we can get the specifics nailed down. Did Taylor end up finishing your boys car up? Have you found one suitable for yourself yet? Oh, BUT...

Enjuku moved shops and took forever to get him parts, so my roommates car is still there. Shouldnt be too much longer.

(Im confused as to what your BUT... means, maybe im slow )

Im still lookin, tomorrow is payday. Thing is id want to save and have Taylor do a RHD conversion just to have it, which is 3k just for that. Still running it all through my head.

Hows business, has randy found a bigger shop to move to yet?

BUT=Back Up Top

Yeah Randy has a bigger shop, but he's already out grown that one too. Its only been 1 month

3K for a conversion!? That sounds hella expensive.:dunno:

Anyway, back on topic here. Anyone know the correct answer to any of these questions?
