What would you pay for this Maxima?

Its a 1991 Maxima SE 5-speed in super black. Has 116,000 miles.

Body is in pretty solid shape, with typical minor dings, swirls, etc. that a 14 year old car would have. Some rust on the trunklid, and spoiler is currently glued down VERY firmly. and some on the rocker ahead of the rear wheel. slight dent on passenger front quarter, plus a slight crack in bumper cover. Runs and drives great. Totally solid driver, no slop in steering, suspension is tight and works properly. No leaks into the car, sunroof works perfectly. Everything in the car works, including cruise, etc. No fluid leaks. The underside of car was rust-proofed, and shows it. clean carfax. Car passes tough wisconsin emissions test with ease.

Parts/services:
-newer exhaust with correct dual-tip muffler AND manifold studs have been done
-Newer clutch
-newer radiator
-newer front brakes
-new tires
-new 02 sensor
-New Nissan fuel filter
-recent coolant flush
-NGK plugs/wires, Bosch cap and rotor
-new fuel injector, the rest tested and cleaned, plus all associated gaskets
-new fuel filler tube
-no serious fuel filler area rust. the recall work was performed early in car's life.
-interior that is almost mint, save for wear on shift **** and steering wheel. -the rest looks new.
-clean trunk area that is free of rust. not rusty behind taillamps.
-underhood is clean.
-only use Mobil 1 oil, Redline trans oil, and Union Sangyo Nippon oil filters, and -good quality air filters
-Bose works properly+another included head unit that plays CDs+adapters
-MAF is replaced and good
-new backup light sensor
-newish door hinges on passenger door
-new swithes in HVAC unit
-new blinker switch
-timing just set, car did well on compression and leakdown, but I can't find the damned sheet with the numbers in this shiathole I call my room.

Needs:
rear pads
ABS Sensor (I would do this and rear pads before selling)
AC recharge (works, but blows cool)
dead aftermarket trunk cd changer needs a fixin (I'd probably just yank this out)
OEM foglamps are gone.

ze car:

Car is also very well documented, as shown in the "How Well Documented is Your Max?" thread that I started. I'm not a donating member, so I don't plan to pull it up

"What would you pay for this Maxima?"

I would pay 1200€. (Note: After shipped here... shipment is ? 1200) That means price for me is 2400$ with taxes, I could then sell it 3000$...

Will not happen. One is lucky when happiness does not depend on what happens...

I payed 1000 for mine without anything replaced. It took 3000 in repairs to get it 'sound'.
I'd probubly try to get it for 2500.

$2500 would be nice

I might sell the car, but I'm not sure that I will.

EDIT: Was moving this thread necessary? I'm not actually selling the car, just getting some ballpark figures, so I posted where 3rd gen people would see the thread :\

Um yeah, it was necessary. 3-gen people aren't dumb. They can visit the maximas for sale section just like the 1st/2nd/4th/5th/6th gen

Wow. If you aren't selling it, why does it really matter?

BTW, I wouldn't pay more than $2k for it, personally.

hey I'm in the twin cities area (MN), and would pay around $2000-$2500 to take it off your hands. It doesn't have to be right this moment either, but pretty soon. Send me a PM with more details on the options and conditions if you would, as well as more detailed pics if you have them.

Well! Wisconsin winters are not friendly to Maximas!

I took it through a carwash because the weather is nice. I guess the rust on the driver's rocker is worse than I thought! It put a hole in the rust, and knocked some paint off...in all, there's about 8" of rusty metal ahead of the wheel A maority of saltland Maximas have this, but it still bugs me I don't think it helps the value of the car for sure :-\ Also, it seems that something splattered on my Max and left some weird dull spots on the trunklid and hood. Only obvious when up close and in the light.

I'm not going to worry too much about the rust seriously affecting the value though...90% of the Maximas I've seen for sale in Racine have had it. I once saw one that had half the rocker gone, but a pristine body otherwise.

**** winter!! I know a guy with a detail shop...I think Im going to let him hit my max with a buffer.

WOW! Here in Hawaii those Maxima's are still going for AT LEAST $2500 to $3000. It sounds as if you take really good care, it may even go for more if everything's documented. And, the mileage is really good. I have a '90 with over 200k miles...they're AWESOME cars!!!!
