Are tranny coolers a good investment?

Are tranny coolers a good investment?
I posted in the 5th gen forum about my 2k2 tranny that is on its way out. Well I'll be getting a new one under warranty, and I thought I should get a transmission oil cooler for it.
What do you guys think of them? I'm hoping to get opinions from those that have had or have on their max. Are the difficult to install?
Here's the one I'm looking at buying:

They are a great investment! I know 3rd gen guys recommend them to all auto owners to help prolong the life of their trannies. I had one on my first Maxima. I would get this type though:

It is more efficient at cooling and supposedly has a valve that diverts flow when the fluid is cold so it won't take too long to warm up. The smallest size should be good for your car.

I can't say it's a bad investment, cause i don't think there is anything to compare it to. I had bought one and i guess it worked since my tranny didn't have any problems, and I basically floored it around every corner. I really did put a beating on my car as far as driving normal. I think I had the Hayden 406 or something like that, not too sure. It's less than $50 bucks....

If your tranny went south, it probably is a good idea. Just don't buy one that's TOO big--I think large coolers can add unnecessary pressure drop to the ATF's fluid system, or at least somehow cause misshifting. (it's a rule of thumb I've heard before)

Get a tranny cooler, it's cheap insurance. I've had mine for more than a year. The downside to some of the tranny coolers is it takes the tranny longer time to warm up causing the tranny not to shift into overdrive for a couple of miles. Mine is 5 miles.
