96 to a 99 Front Bumper Swap

Last week while at a club my drunk friend decided he was to drunk to party and left the club early but his dumb azz forgot we parked right next to each other so he took the turn to sharp and SCRREEEEEEEEETCH CRAKLE CRAKLE.
Later I head over to my car and this is what I see I was a fist away from knocking his azz out..

So ofcourse he's paying for all damages and I decided to go ahead and swap for the 99 front bumper I always thaught they looked better, here it is ... If your going to do this the the 96 grille wont fit there will be a bigg gap so I left it off going to pick up a 99 grille tomorrow...

I got the 97-99 bumper too, but I am keeping my 95 grill like Neal did on his old max. I'll try to modify it a little to reduce the gap before my paintjob this summer. I always preferred the 95-96 grill.

Loooking good. Mine looked the same when i put my 97-99 bumper on unpainted also on a white car. I thought that your auto trans went to hell an you were swapping in a manual so whats the trans cooler for. Also for some more weight reduction take off those mounts where the bumper reinforcement bolts to.97-99 headlight are also lighter and look better.

Was that conversion simple? Simple replace or did you have to drill special holes and so on?

Thanks

Explain your conversion? Was it simple bolt on? Or did you have to make custom holes?

The only thing you need to do is bang down the grille support bracket you will see when you do your self you will notice that the bracket is in the way just hammer her down or something so that the 99 bumper will slide on.

It's really nothing you will notice it when you do it and also the 96 grile wont fit some guys here are just moding it to fit but I'm going to to make my own grille pics of that coming.

Looks just like mine. But mine is being done at the bodyshop. Do you plan on keeping the same color? You're going to have a hard time getting it to match. But since your friend is paying, make sure it comes out like you want it. Good luck!!
