pressure spray washers
how many folks have these for washing their Maxima at home?
What make is good/reliable...and how many PSI's is enough. I dont want to OVERKILL with a mega-blaster that's strippin off the paint, if a smaller model will do

i heard the Karcher pressure washer is nice. but i don't think it's a good idea to wash the car w/ pressure washer. you're pushing the dirt into the paint more.

You need to be careful when begining to wash so that you don't push dirt into the car like Dan mentioned. I want to get one so bad. They make life so much easier. You just shoulda blast the car from a close distance.
An electric pressure washer is sufficient for washing an automobile (<1500 PSI, < 2.0 GPM). As you move up to the gas pressure washers, you'll get higher PSI and GPM (gallons per minute) capability ... which is necessary if you're pressure washing decks, siding, roofs, driveways, etc. You can vary the pressure (with a **** on the base) and the fanning of the spray (with tips) with gas pressure washers. So I wouldn't rule out purchasing a gas pressure washer if that suits your other needs as well. I have a gas pressure washer (rated for medium to heavy residential use) and it can spray as light and fan as wide as a plastic pesticide sprayer.
spraying in dirt
..this is a good point..however, i'm wondering if there is ANY other reasonable way to remove dirt without doing paint damage at ALL. Certainly wiping down the surface with a wet cloth wont do the trick. With a pressure washer on a light mist setting one could soak down the surface first to loosen dirt, then blast it off from a safe distance..NO/YES?? or are there other techniques as well that i just havent thought of?
