Hey guys! My friend can get me a deal at Car Quest Auto Parts where I can get a new muffler for my car at wholesale cost. They have pretty much any kind you can think of. I was just wondering what you guys would suggest that I should get. My stock muffler is rusting so I need a new one. I hear dynomax mufflers sound good on a Maxima. What would you guys get?

P.S. I don't want something that sounds loud and "ricy."

i have dynomax! i love the way it sounds. its not high pitch like 4 cyl cars. it gives a deep throaty groan and got lots of compliments on it, especially since it a universal domestic type muffler...

I second that....

I've got a Dynomax Race Magnum...it was only $70 and sounds sweet, deep toned and a low hum while cruising, "no bees in a can" at all! great muffler, I definently reccomend it!

Tell me more about the magnaflow muffler. Which is better, magnaflow or dynomax? I'm getting the muffler tuesday so I don't have much time to decide.

my first plan was to get the magnaflow but the mechanic advised me to get dynomax instead (dunno why), it was also cheaper.

What about a 5th gen muffler?

Can your friend get you OEM parts? A 5th gen muffler might be another option, if potentially a bit more expensive. At least you won't be taking any chances with excessive noise(since it's an OEM part). Also, because of the variable-outlet setup, it should be able to make a little more power on just about any car.
