ok guys i was wondering if its possible to adapt the eaton supercharger for the G35/350 from stillen for the 4th gen engine im not sure if the intake manifolds bolts are the same and it may be an idea some one can give to stillen that would be better in a way compared to the present one im not sure if this idea has ever been brought up before and if not possible please do list all cons minus the hood problem
i was actually thinking the same things and when i really looked under the hood of my max, it would require some custom work to make it work.
first off, the hood will need modification to clear, the motor mount will get in the way of the pulley powering the SC, and also looks like the timing chain cover seems to be in the way.
it seems that a roots-type supercharger could be useable on a maxima with some work, someone should look into it.

I wouldnt fit, a different motor and layout, it would take some serious and heavy modification to make it work with our cars. Better off sticked with the Stillen or Vortec one. Plus its most likely cheaper than the S/C for the G/350Z
It's been done. But it won't fit the conventional way...there just isn't enough room to fit it under the hood in the engine's V.

The Stillen 350Z kit is a huge rip off btw. $4500 and you have to carve your hood to make it fit. Saw one dyno 288whp vs. the 230whp it did before the blower. Made a ton of torque down low but choked on top. I put down 302whp the same day in Shadow's car at 7psi from a turbo setup I built at home. The 350Z guys were so pissed they ripped the kit off the next day and bought the 6k Greddy TT kit. It put down ~400whp eventually.

well that scrathches that but it would be a good idea if this would be possible and the pulley/belt for the blower can be mounted elsewhere to avoid the engine mount and im sure this is feasible just a whole lot of work to do it

The vortech/Stillen V1/V2 WILL fit on the 4g ... It's the Stillen roots type that wont.
Sorrry, I didn't mean that the 350Z unit will, what I meant was that there was a 4th gen non-roots type that will fit and is made speciafially for the 4/5g 3.0L. The thread title is a "differnt type" of sc that's not readily avaialble. The roots type is the one that was being discuessed a few posts up, as it is not avaialble for any generation maxima.

This whole idea is utterly rediculous. There is now way we can harness all that torque. The centrifugal type SC is the best for a large discplacement FWD car. I'd like to get rid of some torque.
As for making your own kit, yes that is very possible and very cheap but there is no point in making your own mounting plate/system. There are tons of brackets around for sale. I got mine real cheap. All told its gonna cost me ~$1300 to get supered.

The average price of a supercharger kit from superchargersonline.com (http://www.superchargersonline.com/superchargers.asp) is $4352.
I think its overpriced for what it is. You get a measly 6PSI of boost with no BOV, no CAI, a bare bones fuel setup, etc... I just expect a lot more for a sixth of the price of a new car that is already SC/TC'ed.

It's really not overpriced it you look at it. The Vortech blower is something like $1400 new for just the SC itself. Then they have the cast/machined bracket, not cheap for the tooling required to make it. Piping requires custom jigs and mandrel benders, then as you mentioned all fittings, drains, couplers are required. Then the K&N filter, Trex fuel pump, FMU, and soon.
Add a decent profit on top of that and it's a fair price. Comparable to any of Vortech's own kits, or any kit using a Vortech blower.

Actually we are currently working on a plate to mount a V1 onto my buddies Beemer.

There is also and entire chapter on the M42 engine. The engine we are putting it on it the M44 which is only slighter larger. Except in that chapter they were using an Eaton I believe. I understand that for the M42 which is less torquey than the M44. But the M44 has more torque to "waste" and the centrifugal is gonna pull like a beast on the highway. We just gotta convince Vortech to trade us a new V1 for our prototyped bracket because we are using my blower as the template.
