I think 4300K or 4500K some where close to that range, the bulb is D2R I think.... umh you just have to get the bulb nothing else, later on you will get schooled about light outputs from members that have a degree in bulb technology.... the higher the rating blah blah blah....Youll see.....

i believe in the whole color temperature theory, but I don't care what anyone says.......my Maxima's 8000k HID's are brighter than my Evo's stock 4300k-5000k HID's(whatever the stock rating is)

All u need to do is buy D2R bulbs, not the whole kit. stock brightness is 4100-4300k.

check the link out Umnitza's post for the bulb deal.

Hahahaha thats funny. Pretty much all HID factory equipped cars come with 4100k/4300k D2R/D2S bulbs.

In no way will the HID kit on your maxima out perform your EVO's stock headlights. Those are Projectors equipped with 4100k/4300k D2S bulbs. Not to mention the beam pattern on your maxima is **** compared to the evo projectors. Maybe all that glare is making you think they are brighter....

Take a picture of both cars with their lights on with an equal distance from a garage door at night, THEN tell me which is brighter.......

Ok I'll do it for you....

10000k kit (atleast I was told this when purchased, probably more like 8000k) stock 9004 housing

BMW Z4 Bi-xenon Projectors equipped w/ Philips 4100k/4300k bulbs

i don't have said degree! but in case someone did NOT know...
...but i'm sure everyone already knows this but 4100 - 4300 kelvin bulbs will give you higher lumens, therefore that is why they are brighter... when you go up in kelvin you decrease your lumens output...

Get an Optima Red Top battery. Guaranteed better performance from your HID's.

The human eye is more sensetive to blue light than white light, thats why the light will of a 8000k bulb will appear brighter than a stock 4100k, but in reality, the actual light output (measured in lumens) is quite a bit less. If all you are going for is looks, then by all means, but if you want the best possible performance from your HIDs, just stick with what the car came with... You would get more output from a projector retrofit, but thats a whole 'nother topic.

It's like saying it 70º but with the wind chill it's 65º...hence it's 65º.

Saying 8000K has less output than 4300K is right but, since you can see 8000K better, it's brighter.

Well said. I compared the two lastnight, and the stock Evo lights covered more area and were brighter than the Maxima. I stand corrected

Thats the thing, the area covered. While reflector housings tend to point all the light in one area, it may seem brighter, but projectors can evenly spread out all the light so it applies the light in areas reflector housings cannot reach.

The EVO projectors are actually decent ones on the market, be glad you have them.

You should just do some shopping for HID headlights from a 2003 max wreck. You will be pleased with the results.
BlueC: whoever told you thats 10,000K lied to you.
