Im questioning technosquare

well i setup a account with technosquare and called them about a ecu upgrade and i asked about the rev limiter and he said "it might work" but he would not say the rev limiter would be removed. He basicly beat around the bush and said he is not positive it will work (changin the rev limiter).

They are having an issue with certain ECU's and this issue has been talked about a lot in the 4th Gen forum. they need to do more work to figure out why but they haven't focused on it lately because they are busy with other projects.

I was lucky I guess because they were able to get my 96 auto ECU to rev to 7100.

I called them about raising my 96 auto rev limiter and was told they couldn't do it...

*edit: Just called again today and was told there were 7-9 ECUs used between 95 and 96 models. I would have to match my ECU part number with the deezo's to make sure it would work.

I'm going to post my part number here to see if this helps people.

Well, I was one of the first too. They did all of the testing with my ECU and Cheston's Maxima. It started back in October of 2003 also.

I aslo had sent mine in a while back. They held onto for a month or so. They claimed they just couldnt figure it out for the 5-speeds and didnt have the time, nor car to test with.

Yeah, still haven't had time to really work on it these days. There's no Maxima here I can test it on. If you'd like, we can send your unit back Ralph.

I had mine sitting at TS for a few months or so waiting for them to get the rev limiter fixed because I thought they might be actually working on it or would work on it soon. I was about to just get them to send it to me without it and then I would send it back to them once/if they ever get it figured out. Then I found a good deal for a new JWT and it has been sitting there for like 2 months.

Moral of the story: for a new ECU with rev limiter you have to wait a long time. I am tired of it. TS and JWT need to get their act together or we need to find some better tuning options.

JWT only has one programmer working on ECUs. TMK on all nissan/infiinity cars. The guy I got my deal with called the programmer and he said he had 100 ecus on his desk. That is ridiculous. They need to hire more people to work on them since there is a 8 week or more wait. I think Jim Wolf is just afraid whoever he hires will just find out how to do it and then quit and start his own company and charge 1/2 price. I know I would.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was only one guy working on TS too but they don't have as much demand. Normally they get ecus back to you pretty quickly but if they have to research forget it.

TS turnaround is one day so long as you don't need a rev limit upgrade.

installing a daughterboard, burning a chip and putting it in should take a couple hours tops.

I don't think you have a clue as to how much demand TS has. Plus the fact that they build race cars and motors, it's amazing they can get ECU's out in a day.
When they did mine, it took about 30 minutes to reflash, and a 4th gen upgrade took almost an hour. However, I still find it strange that they can only get the upgraded rev limiter to work on certain auto ecu's. JWT can do it to any 95-96.
