would you buy it!!!!!!!!
would you buy it!!!!!!!!
hey, guys i found this car local and want so input. Is a 93se,156k,3.0 motor, new tokico shocks and struts, cold air, auto, clean interior. but the abs light is on and said it needs a wheel speed sensor.I can buy the car for $2400 whatca think!
Running a NADA value report on it, $2400 is right around the range that you would expect to pay for the car. Not sure how you can really tell this, but make sure the guy did not beat on it too much.

knock of a couple hundred off that price (use the faulty abs/ wheel sensor as an excuse)...If and when you get it, run a diagnostic on the abs console in the trunk, find out which sensor is acting up, go to parts for sale section of the maxima.org website and pick one up.
As a side note, see if you can run a check on the ecu (see 3rd gen FAQs for assistance) to see if it's throwing any hidden codes (without CEL showing). This is just in case the knock sensor is acting the fool and a couple more hundred off.. good luck

thanks for the heads up on the auto,I am having second thoughts about even buying the car and just find a newer model with less milesthat needs nothing.I am new to the maxima sene and was wondering what maxima has the most hp!
Obviously, the 6th Generation at 265 hp has the mosthp , followed by 5.5 Gen (2003/2002) at 255, 2001 @ 227, 2000 @ 222, and 4th Gen (1995 - 1999) at 190hp.
If you bought a 4th Gen and added a good aftermarket y-pipe you would have all the power you could handle and would be able to keep up with the 2000 and 2001 5th Gens.
I would be inclined to save my money and buy a 97 or 98 with under 100K on it. The 93 you are looking at is going on 13 years old and has 156K on it. Granted it will last for years to come, but maintenance costs could prove to be problematic over time.

I believe there is a link of dyno runs/rim size comparisions.
I have an auto and I'm dying for a MT. All my friends who have driven driven both would never go back to auto, one of them who did is also dying to get back to MT. Its a bit sad, I feel like theres no point in modding my auto since it will be slower no matter what and theres also restrections that are only felt by autos, for example MEVI will not help u much if u have an auto vs. manual. I could get a 5 spd swap, but then i might as well get a new car...

I agree that you should wait and get a newer model. 4th gens are great cars, and 5-speed is definitely the way to go.
Wow, I have the same car as you only with 160K miles on it.
I wish my max only had 58K on it... as soon as I get my truck though it's undergoing renovations, so...
