Do me a favor, if you can, measure the outside diameter of your current
speakers, the mounting hole cutout diameter, and report to me on the number
of holes (four or six) that the speakers have for mounting... I'll be able
to then tell you if you need anything else to assure a direct fit.
Can someone please tell me the outside diameter of the stock speakers in a 1995 maxima. Not the generic size, i know it is 6.5S but can you measure the speaker please, like is it 6.5, 6.6, 6.75, thanks. Also what is the diameter of the mounting hole cutout. And how many holes are there, four or six. So basically i need the following information:
-Outside diameter of speakers
-Mounting Hole cutout diameter
-Number of mounting holes
By the way i do not have the bose system if that makes a difference in speaker sizes.

There are four holes in the stock speakers (I have non-bose). I got MB Quart 6.5 inch speakers all around and everything fit fine. I have to mention that the speakers have tons of holes in the outer surrounding to fit many different bolt patterns, not sure about other speakers. When the guy at the store measured the diameter of the speakers for me it was a little under 6.5 inches. Go figure?
When you install, there are little ***** on the plastic speaker mount (door speakers), you'll have to cut them to fit other speakers. Don't worry it's two real small ***** that don't effect anything.
Try this site, they posted the crutchfield instructions to remove and replace the speakers.

For the 4th and 5th gen Maximas, the speaker sizes are suppose to be 6.75" all around but 6.5" spoeakers will fit. I have MB Quart 6.5 components in and they fit in great! As for the 3rd gen they are 4x6 for the front and 6x9 rear.

The stock speaker has a kind of squared shape, like an aftermarket 5.25 (aftermarket 6.5s are round). Measured from side to side, it is a hair under 6.25". Measured from corner to corner, it is about 6 7/8s. There are only 4 mounting holes, each one on a corner. I don't know what the diameter of the stock cutout is.
