This will work on the our Maxima, but it's not out yet. Talked to MSD tech and he said they are working on a DIS-X system that will work on our type of ignition which will provide us with a way to retard timing.

One question. What the hell is a CD spark?

IIRC, it is "capacitive discharge"; it is similar to a camera flash unit.

Hopefully this will work out

So far, I think every ignition unit sucks...well at least the HKS does. There needs to be a unit specifically designed for the Maxima.

That does look interesting. I contacted MSD for pricing and availability. The tech I spoke to said he expects the product line will be released in the August timeframe and the 8-channel ignition will list for $600.00. He said that MSD's dealers normally sell for about 40% off list. So we can expect a street price of about $360.00 for the 8-channel ignition when its released.
