shave one side of light bulb?

I think you mean when you replace the dual filament with a single filament bulb with a higher wattage and you file off the little **** thing that holds it in the socket. If you take a look at the 1157 bulbs compared to a 1156 bulb you'll understand what I mean. One of them has two ***** and the other has one. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I got the 1156's and filed off one of the two *****
if that is what you are talking about? So now it runs at 25w all the time. I love it, with new headlights and all, it looks very nice and the sides are VERY bright...
